kidneys
but if I can keep it right here or maybe
lower which is which I really am
striving for
I'm going to be very happy with the
result
let's go back and look at the GFR which
is the other important indicator

hi this is a good indicator of how well
your kidneys are
a functioning and you want this number
to increase
well you can see back in 2010 it started
to go down
from 43 down the 42
down again the 41 had stayed the same
for six months
then it dropped all the way to 39 this
was not good information because I had
love no one kidney as I said
and you want this to increase I was
concerned at this time
my doctor was as well are so I really
started to make
lifestyle changes this is the same time
frame that I told you about
%ah in the other graft and as you can
see when I made those changes my gf are
improve from 39 all the way up to 42
and then improved again up to 43 in
April
have this year so again a dramatic
increase
and I i have every confidence that that
I can I see this increase up to here
up to here maybe even further I if I
continue with a good kidney diet and
implementing a lifestyle changes said
that I've made
over the last a year or so

Dog Health Treatment & Advice : How to Treat Kidney Disease in Dogs




Hi, I'm Dr. Aimee Beger. I'm a veterinarian,
and today, we're going to be talking about
treating your dog that has been diagnosed
with kidney disease or kidney failure. Kidney
disease is a very common disease that we see
in dogs and in cats in general practice. Kidney
disease is, unfortunately, something that
is not preventable and not curable, but it
is treatable. What we typically do for treating
dogs with kidney disease is to first, of course,
do some blood work, and to check your dog's
urine to indeed verify that they have kidney
disease. Once it's been determined that they
do have renal, or kidney disease we like to
put them on a low phosphorous, low protein
diet, add some omega-3 fatty acid supplementation
to their daily routine, and to ensure that
they have plenty of water. When your dog is
showing signs of kidney disease you may notice
that they are drinking larger than normal
amounts of water, and infre, or and frequent
urination. Sometimes, your pet will stop eating,
and may even start to vomit. So, if you see
any of those signs you should seek your veterinarian's
care.
